red texan sky

(yawn)....4:07pm, and i've just woken up after three hours of sleep, im not sure if i was just really tired here, or i still havent adjusted to the times etc..etc...

it's been a weeek since my last [australian] post, and it's been five days since i was there last.

twenty-one hours of sky, old re-runs of tv (including fraiser, friends, csi: miami and that 70's show) and city lights here and there, i t was brilliant

Honolulu, even though i was there for about an hour, was sooo beautiful...nice and warm (for six in the evening) and when the plane boarded and took off, the island (and surrounding ones) looked stunning as they were lit up...looking down on them, was sooo amazing......

flying over arizona and the chocolate mountians was also great!

but what topped that???

a brilliant red texan sunrise....

flying over (and landing) in texas (houston) was great, it was just before seven in the morning - six degrees, highways were slightly empty, and seeing the sun come up, was so gorgeous, red - everywhere, i'd gladly do it again, just for the sunrise!!!!

four hours (30 mintues of complete white cloud, and no sense of up, down, left or right) i land at pierson international airport, canada - step off the plane and i am greeted by, zero degrees and rain trickling slowly down my neck, my hands are freezing and i can see my own breath

amazingly customs let me through (suckers)

and my 38 hour long friday the 28th of november finally hits around lunchtime.....

danielle and james are waiting patiently for me, behind some automatic doors

after three months i get to put my arms around her again, and it's better than anythink i could've imagined!!!!

a short 5 hour drive home (via McDonald's) and it's all good.....

and here i am, playing with fluffy snow and begging for the mercury to go below -1 for the weekend

differences (from austrlia) i've come across so far:

nissan (yes the car comapny) is pronounced, knee-sarn - as apposed to the australian way of nissin....

tasty cheese, is orange, not yellow....

most car inicators (blinkers) are red, not orange....

petrol is only 63.9 per litre (ahhh the good ol' days)and that includes tax....

rootbeer is actually sarsaparilla....

kfc, only sells two kinds of burgers, kfc is just chicken over here...

coke is more syrupy in australia....

all cans of soft drink (or pop as it is called) have those wide mouths, like on four x beer.....

cans are 355ml, not 375ml....

bottles are 591ml, not 600ml...

much music (canada's mtv) wont stop playing nelly furtado's new single "powerless (say what you want)", which is ok, because i like it....

at burger king (hugry jack's, for some of the australians) you can get bacon on your whopper, and you can get gravy, or gravy and cheese (which is called poutine) on your fries....

tim tams (because they are imported, and only available in australia) cost nearly $4, plus tax (it's crazy)....

crunchie bars, arent chocolate with honeycomb on the inside...they're chocolate toffee...

tic tacs and listerine pocket patches are available in cinnamon flavour (and it's red!!!!!)....

thats all for now though, more next post (maybe...if your lucky)

well, i actually slept about 2 hours and fifteen mintues too long, so now i have to clean, got dishes to wash and rubbish to take downstairs (ooooh canadaian life.....still got the same chores!!!)

fluffy snow rocks!!!!
